A saggar fired Erosion bowl, dark iron interior glaze, fired in the gas kiln.
The dry textured surface is left unglazed and takes on its buff and grey colours and markings during its firing in a charcoal filled saggar box within the kiln (also known as tanka firing). The beautiful interior glaze has developed a range of tones as the iron oxide has changed form during the firing. The lack of oxygen within the saggars causes this to happen.
These cups are great for sipping whisky, Scotch of course!
