Erosion cup, tanka fired

A small shot cup (or guinomi) with blue/grey iron-matt interior glaze.  The textured surface is left unglazed and takes on colour and markings during its firing in a charcoal filled saggar box within the wood kiln (also known as tanka firing). The glaze will develop bright ‘rust’ spots if exposed to moisture, this is a harmless and natural process and can be removed, if prefered, by wiping with a damp cloth

Stoneware. approx 120ml
