Small Forest Pouring vessel

A small hand made Forest pouring vessel with dark iron tenmoku glazed interior. Made with a pale, buff clay and layered with porcelain slip before texturing. The exterior surface is left unglazed and reminds me of the scrubby birch forests of West Scotland. This jug has been wood fired with local pine which has given it a warm toasty surface with areas of satin sheen where most exposed to the flame. The interior glaze is a smooth, dark tenmoku and food safe. The base is gently rounded so some care is needed when full – cats beware!
