Small Treeline Forest Bowl

A small hand sized, elliptical Forest Bowl, made from grogged dark iron clay, with porcelain slip overlay. The texture comes from cutting through the white slip and stretching the clay from the inside. It has a dark, almost black tenmoku glazed interior and has been wood fired which gives treacly highlights to the texture. This piece has a foot ring rather than the usual rounded base. There is a small white-ish blip on the interior glaze where a crystal of feldspar has broken through the surface, it probably found its way into the clay from another batch of making.
