Winter Erosion cup 2
An Erosion cup in the colours of winter. By December the clumps of tall deer grass on the hill are dried and bleached. The colour becomes pale like straw with pockets of dark earth showing through.
A treacly dark and shiny tenmoku glaze interior. There are 3 tiny, but smooth, blobs in the base of the bowl. If you’re a glaze perfectionist this isn’t a piece for you! (You can see what I mean in the interior image, at 3 o’clock and 12 o’clock) This cup was saggar fired and then refired in the main body of the wood kiln.
