Wood fired Erosion Jar
A wood fired Erosion Jar. Hand formed from a solid piece of clay with added coils to raise the neck. The textures of this jar are reminiscent of eroding sheep tracks which criss cross the hills. The interior is a smooth rich black/brown tenmoku glaze. The pot was fired in the wood kiln on its side, supported by sea shells which leave haloes of glaze where they touch the clay. The colours come from the wash of the flame as it flows across the clay surface.
